- Dental Crowns in Leesburg, Virginia
Cochran Family Dental offers high-quality dental crowns in Leesburg, VA, including CEREC same-day crowns that are designed, milled, and placed in a single appointment. A dental crown is a custom cap that restores a damaged tooth’s strength, shape, and appearance.
Dr. Brian Cochran has completed advanced CEREC training, so you can get the care you need without multiple visits or temporary crowns.
When Is a Dental Crown Needed?
Dr. Cochran may recommend a crown when a tooth has a large cavity that a filling cannot support, after root canal therapy to protect the treated tooth, when a tooth is cracked, fractured, or severely worn, to cover a tooth with a large failing filling, as part of a dental bridge, to improve the appearance of a misshapen or discolored tooth, or to cap a dental implant
Same-Day CEREC Crowns
CEREC technology allows Dr. Cochran to design, mill, and place a permanent ceramic crown in approximately two hours – all in a single visit.
Using digital scanning and computer-aided design, your crown is milled right in our office from a solid block of tooth-colored ceramic. There is no need for messy impressions, temporary crowns, or a second visit. Your CEREC crown is precisely designed to match the color and shape of your natural teeth.
Crown Materials
Depending on the location and your needs, Dr. Cochran may recommend porcelain crowns for a seamless natural look, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns combining strength with appearance, or all-ceramic or zirconia crowns for exceptional durability and aesthetics.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do dental crowns last?
With proper care, dental crowns typically last 10 to 15 years or longer. Some patients keep their crowns for 25 years or more with good oral hygiene and regular dental visits.
Is getting a crown painful?
No. The tooth is numbed with local anesthesia before any preparation begins. You may experience mild sensitivity for a few days after placement, but this is temporary.
I moved to the area in 2021 after previously enjoying regular, free, high-quality dental care in the military my entire adult life. I went to another dental practice in Ashburn 14 months ago for xrays and a cleaning, and really did not like the experience one bit. “Pushy” “pricey” and “impersonal” are descriptors I never thought I would use when referring to a dental practice. Having to repeatedly decline the same “optional” treatments during the same visit leaves a bad taste in one’s mouth.
Thankfully, Dr. Cochran and his team are the exact opposite of this, and I am so thankful to be a new patient of theirs! If you long for that nostalgic “hometown dentist” feel thst you experienced growing up in the U.S.A., then pick up the phone and book an appointment with Cochran Family Dental! 🇺🇸
